Virtual Millionaire Board
We were hoping to celebrate successes in reading when we returned to school however, now we know that many children will not be returning before September, we are providing a ‘Virtual Millionaire Board’ so those earning certificates get their moment of glory! This will be updated every Monday morning until the end of term.
We want to ensure all children get the certificates they have earned and will provide further details of how that will happen in the coming weeks. We are all delighted with the reading going on at home, we have never had so many millionaires! The children are amazing!
Keep reading!!” Some people and very close to achieving a certificate! Final push for the last weeks. The final board of the year will be on Monday 13th July.
Home Learning and SEND
As an inclusive school we are keen that all resources can be shared with all children and that if they are suitable for your child, you should have access to them. The following resources can be used to support all children at this time. Your child does not need to have been identified as having a special educational need or disability in order to access them.
No one expects parents to act as teachers or childcare providers, or to provide the activities and feedback that a school would. However, here are some really fantastic resources to help you either with learning or with positive mental health. Some will support children who may be particularly anxious about Coronavirus, so well worth having a look:
- Northamptomshire Local offer: file:///N:/NCC%20Local%20Offer%20-%20Lockdown%20Resources%20for%20Families%20(PDF%201MB)%20(003).pdf
- a list of online education resources for children withSEND
- coronavirus educational resourcesfrom The Sensory Projects
The following resource is really useful if you are finding that you need support in managing behaviour or if your child needs more structure-they do not need a diagnosis to access this resource:
- advice on supporting children with a learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)from the Council for Disabled Children

These pages provide the key information parents, children and visitors are most likely to need. Information is updated regularly and gives a good overview of the life of the school.
There are times when parents in some classes need ready access to documents or information and we will post them on this page to make them easier to find.
Year 6 information for the residential trip to the Isle of Wight 2020 can be found here.
In January we held the Year 6 SATs Evening for parents, which was very well attended. For those who would like to recap the information, or for those that didn't make it, the information can be found here.
On the evening of 10/12/19 we held a meeting to discuss our Sex and Relationship provision with parents. This has always been taught at Blisworth but the scheme of work is now within Jigsaw which covers other aspects of children's health, social and emotional education. During the meeting we discussed why sex education is important to children's development and how Jigsaw fits into that. All parents at the meeting were asked to provided written feedback via a sheet so that we can gauge parental views.
The following materials were handed out to parents and formed the basis on the conversation. If other parents would like to share their views with school, the feedback sheet is provided below or we can send home a paper version - please contact the office who will organise that.
